Teacher Evaluation and Reflection on Evaluation
This year I was on a summative evaluation cycle and I welcomed the chance to be evaluated on a more in depth level. I really enjoy the feedback that formal observations bring as I am always trying to improve on my teaching. I was marked with a satisfactory on my summative evaluation.
Dr. Ashley Broer was my evaluator this year. She took a lot of time and care to write summaries that supported the criteria on which I was evaluated. She had high praise for my my performance as an iCRT. Her comments and encouragement were very rewarding for me to read, and will continue to drive me to perform at the highest possible level in the following school years. I strive continually to be an outstanding teacher, and my evaluation this year illustrates that I am succeeding in many areas.
I also enjoyed speaking with Ashley about goals and changes we will implement for the upcoming 2010-2011 school year. Her suggestion for me to implement a plan in order to keep me from becoming overwhelmed is something that I have taken to heart. As I will be teaching two Spanish classes next year in addition to my iCRT role, I understand that life will be more busy and certainly more stressful next year. Finding a way to maintain balance will be crucial and I am very thankful that Ashely set that as a goal for me at the end of this year as it will give me time to plan how I can do that in the upcoming school year.
